The Lord’s Prayer

I love this Cross I bought in Madaba, Jordan. It’s the Lord’s Prayer written in Arabic.

Glee Again!

Okayy!!.. I’m writing about Glee again. After a whole month waiting in agony for Episode 6 (Season 4), it was worth waiting as the new episode was about ‘Glease’ or ‘Grease’.  The movie ‘Grease’ has always been one of my favourite movie of all time 😀

The main reason: Of course the songs! 🙂

Marley on Glee 4

Okay now, after watching Glee Season 4, episode 2 ‘The New Rachel’, I think I like this new character. Marley Rose (Melissa Benoist)

Marley Rose is a character on Glee. She is a sophomore who joins New Directions in The New Rachel. She and her mother, who works as a lunch lady, are poverty stricken. This, and her mother’s weight, has led to Marley being isolated, as she was never accepted in any of her other schools. Marley aspires to one day be a singer on the radio. (Glee Wiki)

Welcome to McKinley High, Marley! 🙂

No Other Name

This memorable song during the SYD3 closing mass reminds me of the youths prayers, hope and love 🙂

It was sung during the presentation of gifts.  The book contains the youths prayers and hope.

In the middle of the song, when the book reached the altar, the choirs stop singing leaving with the background music and the commentator announced the purpose of the book to everybody. Co-Adjutor Archbishop John Wong asked the two young men to lift the book.  Cool eh! 😉

SYD3 Youth Cross is in Keningau

The SYD3 Youth Cross and Mother Mary Icon are now in my hometown, Keningau.  To be exact in St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Keningau.  The Cross and the icon have almost completed their journey around Sabah.  One more stop (St. Theresa, Tambunan) before reaching their final destination in Holy Cross Toboh, Tambunan where the biggest event for Catholic Youth in Sabah will be held, Sabah Youth Day 3 (SYD3).

The SYD3 promo video clip (in Malay).

The Youth Cross started its journey for the first time in Diocese of Kota Kinabalu (now Archdiocese) in 1997 for their Youth Diocesan event, Pesta Belia Keuskupan 1998 (PBK98) in Sandakan.  Some youths from Diocese of Keningau were invited to join the fest.  After PBK98, the Youth Commission from Keningau Diocese got the idea to bring the Cross to the Diocese of Keningau in conjunction with the Keningau Youth Diocesan level fest, Khemah Belia Keuskupan (KBK99).  Thus, completed its journey around Sabah for the first time.

The Cross was given names according to the event.

  1. 1997-1999  Salib Belia (Youth Cross)
  2. 2000 Salib Jubli Belia (Youth Jubilee Cross)
  3. 2004-now Salib SYD (SYD Cross)

Right now the Cross is accompanied by Mother Mary’s Icon.  The Cross has proven to have touches the hearts of not only to the young Catholic people of Sabah but also to the people of all ages.

Here are some pictures of the Cross and the icon in St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Keningau 🙂
